Football Boot Information.

Here are some tips and things to know when buying your new football boots

Soft Ground vs Firm Ground - This sounds simple, but many people wear the wrong type of football boot for the conditions. A simple rule of thumb here is that if the ground easily breaks, or is soft to the point if takes the stud, you want soft ground, if not, make sure you wear firm ground football boots.

Leather vs Synthetic - Leather football boots are often hard wearing, and built for maximum support, and if buying k-leather, few materials are softer on the foot. The synthetic materials in some football boots are often designed to offer as light a fit as possible, but more and more they are matching k-leather for feel and durability.

Artificial Pitches - Unless stated otherwise, football boots are designed, and worn by professionals, on natural grass pitches. If you wear these football boots on artificial pitches, they will not perform as designed, and can wear very much quicker. You are always better with astro turf specific football boots or trainers when playing on any all weather pitch, even the new 3G ones!

Football Boot Care - Other than looking better, football boots perform better, and will last longer if you keep them clean. A scrub in warm water, with a suitable, soft brush, is all you need do to keep the leather in good condition. If your boots feature real leather, then adding some dubbin helps to keep the leather in prime condition.

Common "Faults" - Leather will often come away from the edges of the sole. This is to help the boot fit your foot, and stop the leather tearing. It will not stop your boots performing in all but the more extreme examples. Likewise, the finish may degrade on leather, but this does not affect how it performs. Football boots are subject to a lot of pressure, and such instances are general wear and tear, so keep them in good condition and enjoy your football.
